Catherine Cavagnaro

Aircraft of the Quarter, 2nd Quarter, 2020

In the 2nd Quarter of 2020, we went down south to Sewanee, Tennessee and met Catherine Cavagnaro and her Cessna 152 “Wilbur.” Wilbur spends most of his time rolling and spinning students in the Ace Aerobatic School. Catherine on the other hand, is a Professor of Mathematics, a Flight Instructor, a Journalist, an FAA Safety Team Rep, an Aviation Safety Speaker, a Designated Flight Examiner, a contributor to a national aviation magazine, and a long-time member of the Cessna 150-152 Club. Oh, did we mention she was the 2020 FAA National Flight Instructor of the Year? You may have read her articles in AOPA’s Pilot magazine, but you can read all about Catherine, and Wilbur, in the Summer 2020 edition of The Beacon.
